For minors, verbal approval from a pediatrician is REQUIRED to use numbing cream, as some may not recommend it due to potential reactions or allergies. Without this approval, we can’t apply the cream. The numbing cream we use is 5% topical lidocaine.

We typically offer partial numbing for babies and toddlers, which helps take the edge off but there will still be a small pinch.

• Partial Numbing: Come at your scheduled appointment time, let the piercer know you’ve gotten approval, and we’ll apply the cream while you choose your earrings and go over aftercare. The ears will be partially numb, so there will still be a slight pinch.
• Full numbing: You’ll need to arrive 20 minutes before your appointment to apply the cream. It’s important that the cream stays on for the full 20 minutes without being rubbed off, which can be difficult for some children at this age. If the cream rubs off, we’ll need to remove it entirely, as it should only be applied to the ears
