11 Months - 3 Years
While we have successfully pierced many toddlers over the past 19 years, there are times when we have to refuse a piercing if the child is resisting. We recommend waiting until the child is 6 months old or older, or until they express interest in getting pierced and are able to take proper care of the earrings. Toddlers in this age range are very active and can easily pull the earrings out of their ears.
Our goal is to create a positive and memorable experience, not to cause any distress, so if the child resists, we will not proceed with the piercing. If the earrings are pulled out, you would need to purchase new earrings for re piercing.
Appointments usually last between 15-30 minutes. During the appointment, we will discuss earring options, review aftercare, and mark the placement before piercing.
Important Information:
- For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present. Friends or relatives are not able to bring a minor without their parent or legal guardian also present at the appointment
- We only pierce with our own earrings for sterilization purposes. For more details on piercing systems and earring options, please visit our Prices and Piercing Systems page.
- For toddlers, we can only pierce both ears simultaneously if the child can confirm they will remain completely still. Otherwise, we pierce one ear at a time.
- Minors may bring up to two adult guests to their appointment.
- Due to space limitations, strollers are not allowed in the studio, but we do provide car seat stands.
- Please arrive on time, as we cannot accommodate late arrivals beyond the scheduled time.
- A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations.
- Ensure your child is well-fed, has a clean diaper, and is dressed in comfortable clothing.
- If you wish to change the piercing placement after approving it, this must be done before leaving the room. Any changes afterward will require the purchase of new earrings for re-piercing.
- If you or your child are feeling unwell, please reschedule the appointment.
Numbing:
For anyone 17 years and under If you’d like to use the numbing cream, you’ll need verbal approval from your pediatrician, as some may not recommend it due to potential reactions or allergies. Without this approval, we can’t apply the cream. The numbing cream we use is 5% topical lidocaine.
We typically offer partial numbing for babies and toddlers, which helps take the edge off but there will still be a small pinch.
- Partial Numbing: Come at your scheduled appointment time, let the piercer know you’ve gotten approval, and we’ll apply the cream while you choose your earrings and go over aftercare. The ears will be partially numb, so there will still be a slight pinch.
- Full numbing: You’ll need to arrive 20 minutes before your appointment to apply the cream. It’s important that the cream stays on for the full 20 minutes without being rubbed off, which can be difficult for some children at this age. If the cream rubs off, we’ll need to remove it entirely, as it should only be applied to the ears
Same-Day Cancellation or Rescheduling Policy:
We have a 24-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you cancel, reschedule, or do not show up on the day of your appointment, a $25 deposit will be required for your next booking. This deposit will go toward the cost of your piercing but will be forfeited if you cancel within 24 hours or do not show up.
